Look who’s back
“In my life Iove done fun things and touching things. I’ve never done anything that’s had the human feedback like this. It gives me chills…“, says Ivo Canelas of this Portuguese version of ‘Every Brilliant Thing’, a monologue written by Duncan Macmillan that the actor first performed in January of this year. Having sold out all shows and been seen by more than 2,500 spectatorsthat month, the monologue – produced by H2N – is back at the Time Out Studio for a further 17 sessions, from 27 September to 13 October. In this show Canelas is alone in the middle of a room full of spectators and invites them to take part, touching with emotion and humour subjects such as depression, existential crises, family and love. In it a child repeatedly writes, as he grows up, a list of reasons to live, with the aim of trying to help his mother to recover from depression. Time Out Studio, 27 September to 13 October. Tickets: €16-18 at agencies, Time Out shop (1st floor) and via Ticketline. This show is in portuguese.
