We’re hitting snooze

To our friends:

This year has been a tough one — not only for New York, but for the world. It’s been a year of challenges and uncertainty, and we have gotten through it together. In these times, it is our duty to provide the most safe and enjoyable experience for our guests, while also being a financially viable business place for us and our concessionaires. We have experienced significant reduction in guests with concerns of escalating Covid rates and local government pleas to limit gatherings. In such conditions, our take-out and pick-up business are unable to compensate for the gap.

As a result — unless government restrictions enforce new restrictions prior — we have made the tough decision to temporarily hit “snooze” on all services starting December 14, 2020 at Time Out Market New York including outdoor dining, takeout and delivery.

At our core, Time Out is a cheerleader for local business. That’s why we created the Love Local campaign back in March to support independent, local businesses. As part of this campaign, we will use the power of our media megaphone to help the Market chefs and restaurateurs get exposure for their businesses during this time, to keep them top of mind with our large, highly engaged digital audience. Rest assured, Time Out Market New York will return with mouth-watering cuisine, craft cocktails and amazing cultural activations when going out and partying like 2-0-1-9 is possible without fear. This will set the conditions for all of our businesses to succeed and our guests to have fun without worry again. Throughout 2020, Time Out supported businesses that are at the very soul of their cities as mentioned above, through Love Local —the campaign dedicated to supporting independent, local businesses — fighting for the survival of neighborhood staples in the community. We are proud to say that our Market concessionaires are amongst the very best of the cities.

We might be playing favorites, but we’re especially fond of the concessionaires who make Time Out Market New York a vibrant culinary destination. The next time you have a hankering for savory comfort food and delicious desserts, please support our incredible culinary team by ordering from them directly.
