  The best pies in the city since 1977. It is not on the chefs’ wing and is not even a person. The ‘Chef’ that has opened in one of the kiosks in the Time Out Market is a showcase for what was Lisbon’s first company turning out ready-cooked food to take away, opened in 1977 in Rua Borges Carneiro (in Lapa neighbourhood). To this new adventure in the Market they have brought only their pies, but all varieties of them: chicken, veal, pork, duck and spinach. All are made using traditional Alentejo pie-crust pastry. Here they can be bought singly or served accompanied by basmati rice, home-made matchstick chips, green salad or the famous Pink Salad (featuring beetroot, carrot and cabbage with mayonnaise), which was also one of their first ever dishes.
